Chandigarh Smart City Proposal
My Suggestions are:
1. Self defense training should be compulsory in schools. To prevent child abuse and immoral activities. 2. Solar panels should be installed on light poles, sidewalls of the flyovers. 3. Rain water should be saved 4. CCTV cameras should be installed on every half KM. 5. World class Sports academy to groom children for higher competition.
I don't want to undermine the post, but kindly watch the video, I guesss a fellow Indian abroad seeks your help. Please Help. PMO

for smart city..every station should be wi-fied,wifi should be available at bus stand and airports also..city is connected by neraly areas..proper drainage system should be provided..a lane is provided for ambulance..every 3 km a hospital should be there..24 hrs water and light..cleanliness is also important..various programs should be held by govt. for envt.preservation..
As Chandigarh is an old city it has so many things and it is somewhat a designed city as well when smart city is implemented on it it can make much more and I think so that it will a gem to India
A Smart City (SC) should be well connected with nearby areas/regions (e.g. Panchkula, Baddi and Mohali) and SC budget should allow certain expenditure (balance may be met by states concerned, if required) to be incurred for development of those areas as well. This way a sense of quality life is also ensured to be inculcated or spread in nearby regions to encourage authorities/peoples to take necessary steps to meet the standards. SMART CITY entails steps to make SMART SOCIETY.
Try to focus on basic problems which lead to other problems like - cleanliness, congestion, traffic, Govt. services. Do not try to solve the problems with a complex solution and follow the KISS(Keep It Simple). Cleanliness - install garbage bins, impose fine, sensitize people. Congestion - for new developments, make wide roads first then build city around it. Focus on green parks, play areas, breathing spaces at intervals. Even websites - keep them simple and functional instead of jazzy.
Many middle class families might suffer if pollution related health problems arise. Please make make sure India is ahead in pollution control in line with advanced countries in every aspect of pollution control.
Please read "Reforms in Drinking Water and Sanitation" by Kashik Deb and bring reforms in area of drinking water in close partnership with state governments. The Health of people relies on quality of water they drink. People should be saved from becoming victims to health realted issues in the long run arising from poor drinking water.
